YES. IT’S A MOVIE – WORLD PREMIERE – PARK CITY & SLC
Our Rockies rep Joe Timlin recaps the fun that was had this past weekend in UT for the world premieres of YES. It’s a Movie and Absinthe Films twe12ve.
It is so hot right now, at one point Madison’s car was reading 105 degrees, but everyone was ready to see some snowboarding. Night one was up in Park City. Wyatt and Madison made it out with Utah YES. rider KC Russell to represent the YES. brand, other riders including Bode Merril and famous guys like Ken Block! We started out at the Park City Skatepark with a bowls and beer session. KC, his wife Shawna, and I handed out some swag to the local kids and talked boards while waiting for Madison and his crew, and the party bus with Wyatt. Nico Nolan provided a ride up on sober driver and party bus for the crew coming up from SLC. Some pics of KC shredding the bowl and some little groms that all named a YES. rider for a T shirt.
The movies were amazing, it was all hoots and hollers for both films and ended with a hand-stand-off to win a YES. Board. Nico along with the Side Car in Park City threw a sick after party with DJ Knucklz and featured a live Drummer. Another YES. board went to a raffle winner and a Snowbird Season pass to the Highest Bar tab. Winner spent only $180! Damn I wish I would have bought more rounds of shots….
Not sure the fate of the party bus and its crew that night, but I’ll bet that was an interesting ride back to SLC.
Saturday started with some tubing on the Provo river to beat the gnarly heat and recover a little. The evening belonged to the shred fans in SLC. By 8:45 the line was almost a block and a half long to get in. We got the chance to talk more boards with the fans, friends, and newcomers before the show. Inside, the Tower Theater it felt like 500 degrees, but snow was what everyone wanted. Every part in both films starting with hooting and ended with applause. I think Frank and Wyatt got the loudest cheers! Oh and the POW battle.
The party went down at the Jackalope. It was squeezing room only with J2 on the turntables. It all went down though outside on State Street. A crowd gathered for a battle of MC’s freestyling to J2′s beats to win a YES. Snowboard. More on this later… the dude that won was amazing.
All in all, it was a very successful weekend. The peeps were really stoked and we spread a lot of YES. love in SLC.
Peace!!!
