YES. IT’S A RAIL JAM – KELOWNA STYLE
Wednesday, October 5th, 2011 – 11:40pm~
So, it’s Wednesday night and I receive a text message from Rob (Freeride Boardshop Kelowna) saying, “Uh oh…” with a picture of a small pile of snow that is, needless to say, definitely not enough to build a rail jam. YES, I freaked a little…
Thursday, October 6th, 2011 – 7:29am~
I called Rob. He told me not to worry but I knew he was just saying that so I wouldn’t worry. Trish (Moksha Yoga) kindly said to me on my way out, oh so sincerely, “I hope you have a really special day, Lauren.” What a great way to start the day.
11:08am~
YES. It’s a Rail Jam.
We did it. Mission Park Shopping Centre in the distance branded with a YES banner. And there was SNOW!
Five hours later mayhem began with SunFM’s Brian Mack representing Kelowna RIGHT. M&M meats had a BBQ set up; people were crowding the sidewalks; Carly had a raffle going; Hayley was doing rider registration; and guess who shows up: Kelowna’s honorary guests for the night DCP, Helen and Lucas to judge the comp and rock the house!! Great success at the Jam but definitely couldn’t have done anything without YES’ support so thank you!
8:00pm~
YES. It’s a movie. & Twe12ve Double Feature Premiere at The Paramount Theatre downtown Kelowna. It was a movie. Actually two. But that’s not all. Janelle from Rugged Riders did a sick raffle for the ladies! On top of that, YES., Absinthe Films, Billabong, Anon, iFound and Solomon provided us with the RADICAL swag toss-outs to the crowd! The most talented hand-stander received a YES. snowboard. Thanks for that Dave and Justin!
10:00pm ~
YES. It’s a party. at Avenue Bar. Let me tell you! That place is pure class ![]()
It was a party. ‘Nuff said.
Cheers!
